Chapter 5: Life Goes On
-Wedding Ceremony, 10:15 a.m.-
"...Let them speak now or forever hold their peace." the minister said.
"I object." the voice said.
It was Sarah's.
"What?!" Phil yelled. "Sarah, don't you want to marry me?"
"I did once upon a time." Sarah told him. "I do love you, Phil but I guess I was just fooling myself. I'm not in love with you. I love you like a big brother who's always gonna be there to give me support and keep me safe. Come on, Phil. You don't want to be with me. Your heart's with Lindsay. Follow that dream and marry her. Just like I'm gonna follow mine."
She runs out of the chapel with Monique and Brandon close behind. She changes into a tank top and a long denim skirt with a matching denim jacket. She grabs her keys and turns to Monique and Brandon.
"You're doing the right thing here." Monique assured her. "You've already come to your senses about your feelings for Miguel. Now all you have to do is act on them."
"Think he'll be happy to see me?" Sarah asked.
"Overjoyed." Monique smiled.
"Especially when he finds out that you didn't get married and that you called it off." Brandon agreed.
"I'll call you when I get there." Sarah promised them. "Brandon, how can I ever thank you?"
"Just go get Miguel." Brandon ordered. "You're the one thing that makes him happiest. Well, you and his Al Pacino movies, but Pacino isn't as attractive and can't hold a conversation like you."
"That made a lot of sense." Monique nodded. "If you leave now, you can get there by five."
"I've got the whole nervous thing there right now." Sarah sighed. "Bye, guys."
Sarah gets into her red convertible and puts in her 'No Secrets' CD. She was one step closer to Miguel.
