Summary: It’s been five years since Buffy promised Angel her heart. Will she come back to him or shatter their future and stay away?

Chapter 1
~ Los Angeles, 2008~
"Whatcha lookin' at?" Cordelia Chase asked her former boss and best friend.
"Nothing." Angel slammed the book shut. "I was just thinking what it would've changed. If I'd stayed human. If Buffy and I would still be together."
"Of course you would be." Cordelia replied. "She loves you, Angel. Buffy's never denied that. She did what she thought ws right. She averted the apocalypse and gave everything up to do so."
"I regret the decision, Cordelia." Angel explained. "She was falling for Spike. I could see it. She would've told me. I mean, that's why she said in five years there'd be a chance for us. She knew she wouldn't live to see five years."
"Oh my god." Spike muttered from the stairwell. "No one told you did they, mate? Buffy's still alive. And in Sunnydale, no less."
"She's what?" Angel growled. "Why didn't you tell me, any of you?"
"I'll take you there." Spike offered.
"Let's move." Angel said as they left. "Home sweet home, my love. I'll see you soon."
