Chapter 6
“Have you reached a decision then?” Doyle asked.
“Yes. I have.” Buffy said with a grin on her face. “I have indeed.”
“And, what, may I ask, is your decision?” Doyle inquired.
“If I decide to take this ‘agreement’, I have some things I want straightened out.” Buffy explained. “First off, not one hair is to be harmed on my Angel’s head. That means if anything goes wrong and he dies, I swear to you that the PTB won’t know what hit them after I’m done with them. I want my Angel’s soul bound. I know about the curse, Doyle. I know that if Angel experiences a moment of true happiness, he will lose his soul. I can’t allow that to happen, seeing as how I’m going to let you neuter me.”
“You mean--?” Doyle asked.
“Yes, I’ll take the agreement.” Buffy sighed. “But, I need a few days. I have to think of a plan to lose Sid and Nancy, and Red here.”
“Of course.” Doyle nodded.
“Doyle, don’t fuck with me.” Buffy threatened. “If this is some ploy that the PTB thought up just to fuck with me or my family, I swear that people—demons and humans alike—will start dropping like flies around here. Now, go. Before someone catches you here.”
“You won’t regret this, Buffy.” Doyle promised her.
“You better be telling the truth.” Buffy agreed.
~The Bronze: A Week Later~
“Cool band, huh?” Faith asked Angel.
“Yeah, whatever.” Angel spoke as he scanned the Bronze.
“Okay, Mr. Oblivious.” Faith said. “I know you’re scanning for Buffy. What is it about her that gets you all worked up? She’s a vampire, for fuck’s sake!”
”She’s not just any vamp, Faith.” Angel argued. “None of you have any idea what she’s capable of. Her damage isn’t in the Watcher’s Diaries because I took the fall for her. She was worse than Angelus, especially with the torture and everything.”
“Look, there’s Gunn.” Faith lit up when she saw her boyfriend walk in. “Sorry to bail on you, but Gunn and I haven’t had any alone time since Wes started to up the training. Later.”
She gets her jacket and goes over to her boyfriend, who’s waiting happily for her.
“Oh, Puppy’s being all quiet.” A voice stated. “Is Puppy sad now?”
“Willow.” Angel turned to the voice. “Did Buffy send you?”
“Mistress always sends me, Puppy.” Willow laughed. “Had to make sure that Slayer wasn’t getting into your pants.”
“Where’s Buffy?” Angel asked, his patience wearing thin.
“Mistress left for a few days. She spoke of having to take care of some Angel-y business.” Willow sighed. “I assume she’s going to let Angelus out to play. Wouldn’t that be fun, Puppy?”
“Get out of here, Willow.” Angel growled. “And tell your master that if she hurts Faith, a stake won’t be the only thing she’s going to have rammed into her heart.”
